Making a Fixture PT2 |
|
Now it is time to set in the dowel pins.
Clean the holes. | |
These are standard 1/4" x 1" dowel pins.
Using a belt sander we flatten one side a little, but not the whole thing, just the depth of the hole plus a little.
If you don't do this the pins will pop back out due to trapped air. |
|
Locktite in the hole.
Some where in there we ran a deburring tool around the edge. |
|
Put the pin in the hole. | |
Locktite will ooze out of the flattened side.
Clean up the excess Locktite.
Remove the fixture from the table.
Get some grease in a can. |
|
Spray it in the liners you are going to use.
Remove the fixture stops, flip the entire fixture over, and clamp it all back down.
Now you should understand why we pretty much center the fixture. It makes flipping it real easy. |
